Tree spading allows us to transplant more mature trees, and is a highly successful method we've been using for years. We use either our 60" or
100" tree spades, which just so happen to be the largest in the region.
By using our spades we save you years of tree maintenance and your trees are less likely to suffer mower damage. It's a complex job, but Eagles Rest Tree Farms always does it right.
Evergreen trees should not be moved during the flush of new growth in the spring or late in the fall when it is too late for the roots to become established before winter.
There are exceptions. For example, Birch trees should not be moved until break in the spring, and trees with tap roots are difficult to move successfully regardless of the season. Some trees, such as Mountain Ash, do not transplant well when they are large plants. In this case it is best to purchase a new young plant.

Many trees can be moved at any time of the year using a tree spade, as long as the ground is not frozen more than 12" deep. Eagles Rest Tree Farms has the capability to move trees clear up until mid-February. Certain trees such as Firs, Maples, and Spruce are best transplanted during the cooler months of spring and early fall.
As a general rule, deciduous trees transplant well if moved early in the spring before they leaf out, or in the fall after the leaves have begun to turn color.

Rest assured that Eagles Rest Tree Farms knows the exact process, procedure and best conditions for each and every tree we have in stock.
Let us, the professionals do all the hard work for you, and get you your healthy, mature trees in a swift and timely yet careful manner. For our younger trees we use the popular Ball and Burlap method, making self planting simple and easy. And as always we will leave you with exact instructions, and always answer any questions you may have.
